NOTICE OF GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

The Bloorview MacMillan Centre is pleased to announce three sets of awards available to students. The research must be that which is likely to have a meaningful impact on Bloorview MacMillan Centre and its clients. There are no restrictions on the area(s) of specialization represented in the research. These may include, but are not limited to, Creative Arts, Dentistry, Education, Life Skills, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, Prosthetics & Orthotics, Psychology, Rehabilitatiorv Engineering, Social Work, and Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.

The Scholarship is designed primarily for applicants who are registered in a bona fide academic program.  Scholarship candidates must be capable of demonstrating a commitment to areas related to eligible research and must be enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral degree program at the time the award commences.  Scholarship candidates can only apply to ONE of either the Bloorview Childrens Hospital Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship Award or the Whipper Watson Graduate Research Studentship Award.

The submission deadline is May 1, 2000.


Bloorview Childrens Hospital Foundation Graduate Student Scholarship Award

Bloorview Childrens Hospital Foundation is pleased to announce the availability of a research Graduate Student Scholarship Award.  The amount of the individual award is $5,000.

STUDENT RESEARCH FUNDING IN PAEDIATRIC REHABILITATION

The Research Department of the Bloorview MacMillan Centre is pleased to announce the availability of two awards for student research. These awards are made possible through fund-raising efforts in memory of Whipper Watson.

· Whipper Watson Graduate Research Studentship Award ($4,500, plus $500 travel and research allowance).

· Whipper Watson Undergraduate Research Award ($500, for research thesis or independent study project).
