Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association of Toronto CIBPA EDUCATION BURSARY FOUNDATION INVESTING IN CANADA'S YOUTH - SECURING CANADA'S FUTURE GOALS Supporting the academic achievements of young Canadians of Italian heritage is the main purpose of the CIBPA Education Bursary Foundation. It also provides assistance for students who are not of Italian heritage, if they are pursuing curriculum majors in Italian studies. Since its establishment in 1952, the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association has been dedicat-ed to preserving and strengthening the level of admiration and respect within Canadian society for people of Italian heritage. Our hope is that the Bursary Fund will act as another vehicle to accomplish this important goal. MANAGEMENT & SELECTION The Bursary is managed by a Board of Directors com-posed of Past Presidents of the CIBPA and members of the Association's current Board of Directors. Scholarship recipients will be selected by the CIBPA Application Committee, also composed of current mem-bers and directors of the Association. Applications will be evaluated on the basis of academic merit, communi-ty service and financial need. Bursary awards are given out yearly. They are present-ed in person at a public venue to the award recipients by a representative of the Named Fund's financial sponsor. ELIGIBILITY The CIBPA Education Bursary Program is open to full time college and university students at the under-graduate, graduate or post-graduate levels who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents of the province of Ontario and are of Italian origin. To be considered by the CIBPA Bursary Selection Committee, a candidate must have successfully completed a minimum of 13 years of study. Successful candidates will have achieved a high grade point average in the previous year of studies as indicated by the Transcript and must clearly indicate that financial assistance via a CIBPA Bursary would be of direct benefit.
