SOSIP Listserv

One of the major goals of SOSIP in 1999 is to provide a means of connecting students from across the province. One of the cheapest and simplest ways to do that is via e-mail or more specifically group e-mail or mailing lists. To that end we have decided to use LISTSERV® to create a shared mailing list for all Psychology Graduate Students in Ontario.

Why a SOSIP List?

To break out of the old "Toronto-Centric" way of being.
To keep each other informed of events that matter to students.
To find out more about each other's programmes.
To do all of these things in a timely and up to date manner.

Note: Thanks should go to York University for hosting the SOSIP List and
Dr. Shaké Toukmanian (at York) who has kindly offered to sponsor it.

How to Subscribe

1) Address an e-mail message to listserv@yorku.ca. Leave the subject line empty.

2) In the body of the message type "subscribe sosip" without the quotes. This should be the only thing in the body of your message. Erase any other text like a signature file before sending the message.

3) You will receive a message asking you to confirm your subscription. Follow the instructions and reply.

If you get stuck ask your local computer guru if he or she might deign to help you. If that doesn't work check the following on-line manuals. York University's Listserv FAQ or if you're a sucker for some real punishment the General User's Guide to LISTSERV® 1.8c from the creators.
